Weekly Poems to Motivate you in Photography

THEY shut the road through the woods
Seventy years ago.
Weather and rain have undone it again,
And now you would never know
There was once a road through the woods
Before they planted the trees.
It is underneath the coppice and heath,
And the thin anemones.
Only the keeper sees
That, where the ring-dove broods,
And the badgers roll at ease,
There was once a road through the woods.
Yet, if you enter the woods Of a summer evening late, When the night-air cools on the trout-ringed pools Where…
They have a hidden talent, the ability to make everyone stop in their tracks and take in their beauty. No matter how many times we’ve seen them, there’s something about those colors in the sky that never loses its intrigue. Part of what makes them intriguing, perhaps, is just how short-lived they are! I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they Out-did the sparkling waves in glee: A poet could not but be gay, In such…
Both fields are important when reporting the news, but as a picture is worth a thousand words, photojournalists have a leg up on most all other kinds of media. They often travel to places of particular note or may live in a certain area to catch events as they unfold. You could be a war correspondent, or capturing events in your home town. However, I often find as a veteran photographer on Instagram disappointed by the #macrophotography hashtag, as the quality of each and every single photo (put plainly in the hashtag) is bad.
In the age where most phones have a setting for this on their phones, Macro photography has become a lost art: One where only the best of the best can stand out. Sadly, not very many can break…
